A particle P of mass 1.6 kg is suspended in equilibrium by two light inextensible strings attached to points A and B. The strings make angles of 20 degress and 40 degress respectively with the horizontal (see diagram). Find the tensions in the two strings.

five people are randomly selected from a group of 67 women and 33 men. find the probability that the selection consists of an odd number of women
(a):-
x=1: straight vertical line at x=1
y=2: straight horizontal line at y=2
x+y=5
y=5-x[Equation of the Line] y=5-1=4
y=5-2=3
y=5-3=2 y=5-4=1 y=5-5=0 y=5-6=(-1) And So On:-
This is perfect

five people are randomly selected from a group of 67 women and 33 men. find the probability that the selection consists of an odd number of women
This must be done case-wise. Consider each possibility that has an odd number of women and add their probabilities.
Five people are selected.
So women can be selected either, 1, 3 or 5
Probability (selection consists of an odd number of women) = [1C67 * 4C33]/5C100 + [3C67 * 2C33]/5C100 + [5C67 * 0C33]/5C100
Calculate it using a calculator.

Hello, what is the answer for
1.
(a) On the grid, draw the lines x = 1, y = 2 and x + y = 5.
(b) Write R in the region where x≥1, y ≥ 2 and x + y ≥ 5.
(a):-
x=1: straight vertical line at x=1
y=2: straight horizontal line at y=2
x+y=5
y=5-x[Equation of the Line]
y=5-1=4
y=5-2=3
y=5-3=2
y=5-4=1
y=5-5=0
y=5-6=(-1)
And So On:-
a triangle will form on the graph which you can mark as R
